Fred Lindstrom, Writing Tutor

I have taught writing and English Literature for over thirty years in private New England secondary schools, working with students in grades 9-12 and preparing seniors for the Advanced Placement Literature and Composition Exam.

I enjoy working with all students, including those who have struggled in the past to meet their teacher’s expectations, or have never written a formal, thesis-driven essay, analyzed a poem, play, novel, or short story, or constructed a research paper.

I offer clear and practical guidance to help students comprehend their assignments, create thesis statements, use quotations to advance their arguments, and compose effective and memorable introductions and conclusions.

Whether working on sentence-level editing or revising a draft, revewing grammar or reconsidering vocabulary choices, my goal is to help students feel confident that they can meet and overcome their writing challenges.

I also offer support for students who are working on college application and supplemental essays.
